Our Mission
The U.S. Green Building Council’s (the USGBC) core purpose is to transform the way buildings and communities are designed, built and operated, enabling an environmentally and socially responsible, healthy, and prosperous environment.
The Piedmont Triad NC Chapter mission is to accelerate the implementation of sustainable building concepts, technologies, and practices through education and advocacy in Piedmont Triad, NC communities and region.

The Piedmont Triad NC Chapter of the USGBC has completed its 2011 Board of Directors election. The following positions have been filled by:
Vice Chair: Jim Fields

Treasurer: John Merrill
Board Liaison – Education: William Marion
Our Chapter Board for 2011 will be composed of 9 people who are representative of the following USGBC membership categories:
Contractors and Builders
State, Local and Federal Governments
Universities and Technical Research Institutes
Design, Architectural, Engineering and Technical Firms
Building Product Manufacturers
Professional Societies
Environmental Groups
Building Control Service Contractors and Manufacturers
Commissioning Service providers
Candidates were selected for the slate to provide a desirable mix of expertise, leadership experience, diversity, and continuity for the governing Board.
The election of candidates to the Board began March 11, 2011 and ended April 1, 2011.
Thanks to all of you participated in this opportunity to help shape the future of our Piedmont Triad NC Chapter and that of the local green building industry. Although the main responsibility of the governing council is providing overall direction and management, it also offers lasting business relationships and friendships.
